FP-1

Overview

FP-1 is a Ukrainian long-range strike drone developed and manufactured by Fire Point. It is designed to hit stationary ground targets day and night, including under active electronic warfare. It has a range of up to 3,400 km, a payload of up to 60 kg and an endurance of up to 20 hours.

Development

Fire Point was founded in 2022. Work on FP-1 began the same year as a response to Russian-Iranian Shahed drones. The first prototypes appeared in late 2022, flight trials were completed in May 2023, and the company received its first contracts in October 2023. Public tests took place in March 2024 at a range in western Ukraine, and mass combat use began the same year.

Design

FP-1 has a twin-boom layout and a two-cylinder engine. Its load-bearing structure is made of plywood. It launches from a sloped ramp with a solid-fuel booster or from a truck-mounted launcher, so no airfield is needed. Launch preparation takes about 18 minutes. The warhead weighs 60 kg and can reach 120 kg at shorter ranges. Its navigation software was developed by Fire Point to work under heavy electronic warfare. The company does not use components from China or the United States.

Upgrades and variants

The first version of FP-1 had a range of 1,600 km. In 2026 the drone received a new trapezoidal wing with a straight leading edge that also serves as a fuel tank. The upgraded version has a range of up to 3,400 km. FP-2 "Front Strike" was introduced in September 2025 for striking stationary and moving targets, with a payload of up to 200 kg, a range of up to 700 km and an endurance of up to 4 hours.

Combat use

FP-1 has been used by the Defense Forces of Ukraine, including the Special Operations Forces, since 2024. Its main targets are oil refineries, ammunition depots including those in Toropets and Tikhoretsk, radar stations and air defense systems inside Russia. According to official data as of December 2025, FP-1 accounted for 59% of long-range strike missions and 54% of confirmed target hits. On 6 July 2026, FP-1 drones hit the ELOU-AVT-11 primary crude oil processing unit at the Omsk refinery, about 2,500 km from Ukraine's border. At the time it was Ukraine's deepest strike of the full-scale invasion.
