FP-2
Overview
The FP-2 is a Ukrainian medium-range strike drone made by Fire Point and derived from the long-range FP-1. The baseline version carries a 105 kg warhead about 200 km and is designed to hit fortifications, depots and equipment near the front line. It was unveiled in September 2025; in 2026 versions with warheads of up to 200 kg and ranges of up to 700 km appeared.
History
Fire Point developed the FP-2 from its long-range FP-1 strike drone. The engineers traded flight range for a heavier warhead. The drone was meant to fill the gap between light strike drones and expensive cruise missiles, hitting fortifications, ammunition depots and concentrations of equipment up to 200 km behind the front line.
The FP-2 was first shown publicly in September 2025 at the MSPO defense exhibition in Kielce, Poland. According to its developers, it was already in use at the front by then. In November 2025 Ukrainian officers described it as filling the gap between long-range FP-1 missions and heavier strike platforms.
Design and specifications
The FP-2 uses the same layout as the FP-1: a piston engine driving a pusher propeller, launched from a rail with a solid-fuel booster, with no prepared runway needed. The launcher can be fixed or mobile, built on an ordinary army truck. The baseline version has a wingspan of about 6 m and a takeoff weight of about 215 kg.
The baseline 105 kg warhead is an adapted OFAB-100-110 high-explosive fragmentation aircraft bomb. The drone works in two modes: autonomously to preset coordinates using inertial and satellite navigation for fixed targets, or under operator control over a radio link with video from optical and thermal cameras for moving targets. In 2026 the company was introducing optical navigation based on inexpensive night cameras to reduce reliance on satellite signals.
Variants
In March 2026 Fire Point said it was working to increase the warhead to 158 kg while keeping the 200 km range, using a fuel tank built into the wing. In June 2026, at the Eurosatory exhibition in Paris, the company showed an updated FP-2 with a new single wing and integrated tank: it carries 200 kg over 370 km, while a version with a 105 kg warhead flies up to 700 km. The company says switching to its own engines and components has lowered the drone's cost.
Some FP-2s carry two rails with four unguided S-5 rockets each, used against light targets on the way to the main target. Carrier versions that take FPV drones or quadcopters under the wings have also been shown.
Combat use
According to its developers, the FP-2 was already in use at the front by September 2025. On 13 November 2025, according to UNITED24, FP-2s struck a Russian Orion drone site at Kirovske airfield in Crimea. In May 2026 thermal footage was published showing an FP-2 firing rockets at a Russian Black Sea Fleet communications node near Myrne in Crimea.
Production
Fire Point mass-produces the FP-2 on the same lines as the FP-1. In March 2026 the company said it runs at least four FP-2 test flights every day and, for quality control, opens and inspects every twentieth warhead in a batch. By 2026 production had moved to Ukrainian-made engines and components.
