The Moscow Oil Refinery in Kapotnya has been targeted in another drone attack. Published footage appears to show an impact on the facility, followed by a fire. Preliminary information indicates that the strike hit the area of the ELOU-AVT-6 processing unit, which is used for the primary processing of crude oil.

This is not the first drone attack on the Moscow Oil Refinery. The facility has previously been targeted by drones, resulting in damage to processing equipment and other infrastructure. In particular, the AVT-6 unit was reportedly hit in June 2026, after which some of the refinery's production capacity was temporarily suspended. Satellite imagery later showed visible damage at the facility.

The AVT-6 unit is an important part of the refinery's processing chain. It performs the initial processing of crude oil, producing components that are subsequently sent through additional stages of petroleum production. Serious damage to this equipment could therefore affect the refinery's processing capacity.

Preliminary information suggests that Ukrainian long-range drones from the FP family, manufactured by Fire Point, may have been used in the latest attack. FP-1 drones were previously reported to have been used in attacks on the Moscow Oil Refinery. Judging by the published footage, the damage could be significant. Several separate fires can be seen across the facility, potentially indicating impacts on multiple areas. The exact condition of the AVT-6 unit, the potential impact on refinery operations, and the time required for repairs remain unknown.
